Doorstep Waste Pickup Preparation Guide
Welcome to our easy-to-follow guide for preparing your trash and recyclables for doorstep pickup. To ensure efficient and safe disposal of your waste, please adhere to the following guidelines.
Preparing Your Trash for Pickup
Bagging
All household trash must be securely bagged in trash bags. Do not overflow bags; each should be tied tightly to prevent spillage. A second tied bag can be placed on top of bin. No more than 2 bags will be collected. Bags should not weigh more than 20 lbs.
Containers
Place your bagged trash into the designated trash bins provided by Monarch Waste Valet Services. (Check with your property manager. If you are using your own containers, ensure they are sturdy and have tight-fitting lids).
Oversized & Hazardous Items
For items too large to fit in bags or bins (like furniture and appliances) and hazardous items, schedule a special pickup. DO NOT leave these items at the doorstep without prior arrangements.
Placement
Place your trash bin at your designated pickup spot 2 hours before your scheduled collection. Keep the area clear of obstacles to ensure easy access for collection staff.

Cleanliness
Rinse all containers (e.g. bottles, jars, cans) to remove food residue. Labels do not need to be removed, but cleaner recyclables mean a more efficient recycling process.
Sorting
You do not need to sort your recyclables; we accept co-mingled recyclables.
Flatten
Flatten cardboard boxes and similar items to save space in your recycling bin. Larger flattened boxes can be placed behind your bin.

Acceptable Recyclables
Paper

Newspaper, office paper, junk mail, magazines, paper bags, wrapping paper, envelopes, milk and juice cartons, and cardboard (flattened).
Plastics

All containers with recycling symbols labeled #1 - #7, water bottles, milk jugs, and detergent containers.
Glass

Bottles and jars of any color.
Metals

Aluminum cans, tin cans, aerosol cans (empty) and clean aluminum foil.
What not to recycle
Contaminated Materials

Items heavily soiled with food, grease, or waste
Plastic Bags and Wrap

These cannot be processed with regular recyclables and often require special drop-off locations.
Styrofoam (Polystyrene)

This includes food containers and packing peanuts.
Hazardous Materials

Batteries, paint cans, and chemicals must be disposed of through specialized programs.
Electronic Waste

Cell phones, computers, and other electronics require special disposal methods.
